Wow lots to learn and read, I am still checking on branding since I don't like my banner I am still working on it. as for my pictures I love the white background specially that my jewelry is very colorful. Any suggestions and opinions will be very appreciated Your banner: why not shoot a photo of some of your lovely jewelry that is laid out to create room for the text? Also, I agree -- the white backgrounds are great.

I feel like my brand is generally cohesive, and packaging too (I use brown Kraft boxes with bright ribbon, generally matching the stones inside the package so it's rustic but colorful). I know my banner is less than stellar, and it's old. I have mixed feelings on my product photos and there are a few embarrassingly bad ones in the mix. Additionally, some items look good on white, some look good on wood... so I have a hodgepodge of backgrounds. Maybe a faded out piece of driftwood for a background as a compromise? I do want a softer blended look for my background as there's so much color in the actual stones, but I don't know if that should be driftwood, gray matte paper, or bright white poster board. I'd love some honest feedback!

It might be too much if it was all on that though. I agree the banner doesn't give the feel of your jewelry. Maybe as dixsterling said using your jewelry...it would give you more color in the banner to match your colorful jewelry.

I'd love some honest feedback! I like the background on this one www.etsy.com/listing/164353242/natural-hessonite-garnet-hoop-earrings?ref=shop_home_active_3 in the small picture. It looks like it has texture but doesn't fight with the jewelry. It shows a lot more texture when I pull it up so maybe plain white would be better. The dark brown background shows up those earrings beautifully. I'm not sure the wood background fits your delicate jewelry. (I live in a log house so the wood vs delicate is a constant issue). I don't think the Kraft paper box is a problem since you use colorful ribbon to match the jewelry. If you don't like the banner perhaps the same wording but with different fonts for the StellaZiganti and the rest of the verbage. I like the wording. Some of your jewelry is more colorful so maybe use one of those on the banner.

Any suggestions and opinions will be very appreciated I think the white background works well with your 'style'; that said the model photograph works well; as do the gray wood background (not sure about the other wood background used for a yellow ring - but it could work with other colore pieces) I would recomend using the - rearrange shop feature to move things around so the 'different backgrounds' are scattered rather than clumped at the bottom. also i love the use of keys as a prop - it is perfect for your keyrings. it shows scale & function perfectly. I like white better. The grey wood was okay I had to go to the park and pack all my stuff, it wasn't fun special with nosy people. The yellowish wood, at the beginning I thought it's okay but after I started using white I thought it is better with my colorful pieces

This banner is actually a part of my big banner that I use when I show my work in markets. First, it looks like it's a part. 2- I think may be something that's simple, clear and modern will work to give my shop more style and identity. What do you think?

I feel soooo behind. I checked daily last week on starting this challenge and then up and got busy and forgot to check in this week....... Enough of that, and time to get to work. I have NEVER made a proper banner. For some reason I have never quite pinned down what would work best for me. My shop took a huge change when my partner (bitch-in-law, soon to be ex) up and quit and left me high and dry on her part of our joint venture. Since then I have worked on finding my own voice and style. I have been learning a lot since restarting things back alone in October, but I haven't nailed down my target audience or my branding. Perhaps a few new eyes can see what I cannot. I want to keep the shop name the same, but would change it if it is really not working. The hummingbird logo and quote is for my mother, who we lost 2 years ago and gave me my love of creating and nature. I purchased a tiny hummingbird metal stamp that I would like to start using and attaching a tiny metal tag on all my creations. I try to incorporate wire or metal in all my products and most items are custom made to the customer's choices (within a few limits of course) I like to personalize my creations. The biggest sellers in my etsy shop are the wood birthday signs with the hand stamped name tags, and the name necklaces. So, if anyone would care to take a look at my etsy store, the photos and products and give me an overall feeling of what you think I am trying to do, it would help me greatly in coming up with a banner. Thanks so much, www.etsy.com/shop/gibsongirlsgonewired

I have always loved your banner; its clean, crisp, modern, minimal, striking & memorable - just like your work. i personally dont think you need to change anything; but inserting the phrase - Geometric Wooden Jewelry in one of the corners might work

So, if anyone would care to take a look at my etsy store, the photos and products and give me an overall feeling of what you think I am trying to do, it would help me greatly in coming up with a banner. couple of things pop to mind the quote is gorgeous, and if your planning on incorporating metal hummingbirds in your work then you should definatley keep it; but maybe it would be better suited on your about page; or at the bottom of your shop announcement? the hummingbird could then become your 'branding' so it will be included in all of your work; so ulimatley it will be in all of your photos. so including it in your banner would be great you could make up a handfull & photograph them as a background for your banner; of get a clean crisp close up & include that in the banner Your shop seems to be split in two - jewelry & home ornamentats, so how about a banner that is split in 2? so your shop name at the top, and then jewelry on the left ornaments on the right choose 2 or 3 contrasting colors, include images or words (whatever you want) that descriptioon is confusing - so i made this template at banner.fotor.com/i am not suggesting this as a banner (the style/color is wrong for your shop) but im trying to explain what i mean by split in 2.
