Hi I'm Char…the one-woman shop owner of PDR Printables. My shop focuses on printable graphic design - invitations, cards, labels, photo collage, signs, banners and more to come in time. I worked for many years as an administrative assistant at a woman's college in Virginia. I loved my co-workers but wanted more creative work. An opportunity at a small print shop came up for an Office manager and typesetter. I was introduced to the wonderful world of print and graphic design. At that time it was Creative Suite 2 and Indesign software. Fast forward to a move for hubby's job to the desert southwest…now it's Creative Suite 5.5 mostly illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat. With a smattering of old Qwark files needing edits as clients come in for updates. I love my day job at the print shop but like many, dream of making enough to work from home full time some day. I also look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone here.

Hello Char, welcome to the forums! My cousin used to try to get me to use quark. He even gave me a bootleg copy, but it took a lot of effort to learn illustrator and I was reluctant to try master something new;) Anyway, I didn't do enough graphic work to rationalize using up all that space on my already slow computer way back in the day, so I never installed it (it was a long time ago). Well, nice to see you on here -Jess Hi Jess, Quark is not a favorite. I learned in Pagemaker and then Indesign. Grown fond of Illustrator.

Hi Char. Quark... ack! You brought back college nightmares of fussing with that program. Thank goodness for illustrator,

Yes, I much prefer InDesign over Quark! Mostly, I use Photoshop and Illustrator thankfully
