Our local US mail carrier is wonderful. She is very friendly and courteous, always walks packages up our steep driveway to leave them at the door, when it's raining she puts them in a plastic bag so they won't get wet--although I don't know why she doesn't just walk the 15 steps further to the front porch that is sheltered from both sun and rain, oh well, guess I can't ask for everything. I've never yet had a problem with our local post office, but I've heard some horror stories too. I have had a couple of packages that I've sent go astray in other US cities, fortunately never for very long.
It's Fed-Ex that gets my dander up. Time and time again they have left packages at the back door in the pouring rain. Don't they know what water does to corrugated cardboard? I can just hear them, in the voice of the wicked witch in Oz, "I'm melting..." At least three times this year we too have gotten the "couldn't be delivered" line when 1) someone was home ALL d*** day and never heard the doorbell, let along the dog bark, 2) no sign of a "attempted delivery" notice, and 3) our house number appears in three separate places--the mailbox, the back door AND the front door, because we face the corner diagonally and even the pizza man gets confused. Guess every carrier has their issues. So far I've had decent luck with the US mail, so I'll keep my fingers crossed and keep on using them as they are least expensive option.

Mine will be headed out a little late. (Tomorrow.)
And then I shall be internally pacing impatiently and wishing I could see the unboxing. And fighting my postal paranoia.

Looks like this Secret Santa will be calling the USPS tomorrow. The tracking info shows the package was accepted at the local sort facility, with an expected delivery date of the 25th. And that's it. No movement. No delivery update. Nada. Grrrrrrr. This happens far too often in my local PO. I need to find a way to ship from another county. Or state.

No movement. No delivery update. Nada. Grrrrrrr. This happens far too often in my local PO. I need to find a way to ship from another county. Or state. Try clicking on the USPS Tracking # Link and then checking the email notifications and entering your name and email address and adding it, and then add another email name and email address if you wish. In the past when the package showed accepted but not moving and I entered a email notification on it, it "magically" starts moving. Hope this helps.
