I get panicky when I start thinking about the logistics of it. I know we should offer them... but.... GAHRGH! I don't *think* it'll actually be that bad. Really just an excel sheet of certificate #, buyer, Alphanumeric code (I want something relatively random) and value. Probably a column for updated value, and maybe even date redeemed. I hope I'm not missing something significant! I just worry about amount plus shipping and possibility of overages or underages or... basically, I think too much.

Just make sure it has a expiration date on it When I first started offering Gift Certificates in my salon I didn't put an expiration date on them and 1 year later I still had people coming in with them. I started putting a 6 mos expiration date on them, which gave them plenty of time to book an appointment. I love the form and the concept and will do this on the website. Oh, also let them know that its not refundable (they can't ask you for that amount in $$ form, or as a credit back to the person that paid for it)

I should definitely put the non-refundable/exchanging for cash bit. In Canada (BC, at least), it's illegal to put expiry dates on gift cards, so I'll have to take my chances there. It's great as a consumer, but a pain as a business! Also dangerous as a customer who is likely to lose it if I keep it too long
