I'm re-doing the description for one of the listing for which I just changed the title. How did I do? www.etsy.com/listing/53998511Current wording: This bracelet features beautiful lampwork beads in sage and celery green with milky blue and pale peach spots surrounded by glossy black. I alternated the green beads with black beads (mix of onyx, glass, and blackstone) and sterling silver accents. A sterling silver toggle style clasp, complete with beaded dangle, makes this bracelet easy to fasten and fun to wear. The bracelet measures about 6.75 inches diameter. For more original beaded and charm bracelets from Paisley Lizard Designs, see this section of my shop www.etsy.com/shop/PaisleyLizardDesigns?section_id=5828777.Edited to: This beaded bracelet features beautiful artisan-made lampwork beads in swirling sage and celery green with light blue and peach spots with black highlights. I alternated the green lampwork beads with a mix of black onyx, black glass, and blackstone beads. Each lampwork bead in the bracelet is accented with sterling silver beads on either side. The nature-inspired design of this bracelet reminds me of green caterpillars. The unique hand-crafted lampwork beads make this bracelet a one-of-a-kind design.
The lampwork and mixed-gemstone beaded bracelet measures about 6.75 inches (17.15 cm) diameter and fastens easily and securely with a sterling silver toggle clasp. The clasp is accented with a lampwork beaded dangle on sterling silver wire. For more original beaded and charm bracelets from Paisley Lizard Designs, see this section of my shop www.etsy.com/shop/PaisleyLizardDesigns?section_id=5828777.TAGSbeaded bracelet, lampwork bracelet, green black bracelet, glass bead bracelet, toggle bracelet, sterling silver, sage green bracelet, green bead bracelet, nature jewelry, artisan jewelry, Paisley Lizard, thehandmadeforum, SRAJD Really good! I actually think your titles are fine and not overly long. I think you're being hard on yourself. You're including the important bits and you're not stuffing them. So not to worry. But you can always remove one or two keywords from your title, and just add them to your description in the first few lines (for meta descriptions, see first post again) if you think your titles are too long. Thanks, Katie, that helps. I am trying to include useful, pertinent information and not just stuff them with repetitive variations of the same thing. They just seem really long compared to a lot of others. Also, what about phrases like stocking stuffer idea or Easter basket idea? People do sometimes search for those terms, but your post at the beginning makes it sound like those are not a good idea because they're suggesting a use for the item. Would it be better not to put those terms in the title? Can I use them in tags? Or just suggest it in the description somewhere? Stocking stuffer and easter basket idea is acceptable. As long as you change them when the season is over. It would be considered stuffing if you had all seasons/holidays mentioned all the time all at once.

It's a little easier to follow the description. I also like the bullet list with your links. Could you get a couple more of the key words from your title into those first 160 characters? Notably missing are the words silver and oriental.

I re-did the description for another of my older listings. And noticed I seriously need to re-do the photos. Eek, that blue paper background. Anyway, the revised description still seems a little sparse and not very exciting. Any thoughts on what else I could add? I struggle with adjectives in particular. www.etsy.com/listing/21187677Before: This southwestern inspired bracelet has two turtles carved from brown dyed jade. The turtles are surrounded by blue-green turquoise nuggets and round jasper beads. The handmadebeaded bracelet is easy to fasten with a sterling silver toggle style clasp. This bracelet measures approximately 6.25 inches long. For more original beaded and charm bracelets from Paisley Lizard Designs, see this section of my shop www.etsy.com/shop/PaisleyLizardDesigns?section_id=5828777. After:This southwestern inspired turquoise beaded bracelet has two turtles carved from brown dyed jade. The turtles are surrounded by blue-green turquoise nuggets and round jasper beads in a caramel brown. I added rope-edge sterling silver spacers as accents on either side of the turquoise nuggets. This rustic southwestern turtle bracelet measures approximately 6.25 inches (16 cm) long and fastens easily and securely with a sterling silver toggle clasp. As long as you change them when the season is over. It would be considered stuffing if you had all seasons/holidays mentioned all the time all at once. Easter Gift Ideas and Stocking Stuffers are seasonal Etsy Search pages, and as long as the title has these words in it, they will/can make it onto those Browse pages. Usually I've found that beginning the title with the seasonal wording is best if you want to target that Browse page with one item. I've also added Spring Celebrations to a title or two and found it on the Home & Living Spring Celebrations Etsy category page. However, be warned.....newly listed items are always listed first, and gradually will fall off the first page of search as new ones are added. It is fun to play with a title for a day or two, knowing that it will within a day or so be moved to the 2nd page of search

It might be on blue until you retake it, but it does show the detail in the turtle I do like your revamped description. Perhaps letting them know where the turquoise is from? And maybe the quality of the sterling (.925?). Don't most of the Indian tribes in the Southwest think the "mother" to the earth was/is a turtle? If so, maybe you could work that in with "show your love for mother earth" or something like that
