Hi Everyone, My background is a BA in Art, with an emphasis in oil painting and drawing. However, my media of choice for the past 10 years has been polymer, which can be found in my createmyworld etsy shop. Because I also have a very strong environmentalist sensibility, I began working to upcycle and repurpose materials that would normally cause pollution after their single use and disposal (plastic bags, tyvek, found objects, etc.) that work can be found in my OneMoreUse etsy store. Creating is my passion, but my main job is to take care of the house, hubby, garden and dog! So glad to be a part of this team to show etsy and shoppers the importance of handmade items!

oOo I have a BA in design, but did art and design at college. I love drawing and painting etc. I have never used polymer clay though. I like my wood too much

Nice to meet you! I've always been interested in upcycling but stuff I've made never comes out right. Looks like you have it down to an artform though! Thanks Trish! I've always wanted to try my hand at soapmaking... but too afraid to try working with lye.

Beth, I remember reviewing your application for OneMoreUse and I was fascinated! You do amazing work and the fact that you are doing so while reusing materials is doubly impressive! Thank you Suzanne, for the kind compliments!

im in the middle of an upcyling progect, my old aluminium bed frame broke, so i took half the base - flipped it on its side, and im now using it as a head board, and whenever i make alter a piece of clothing for myself, i tke the left over fabric and weeve it into the crossed base.... does that make sense? i should grab a photo of it
of course its not as polished and professional as your work, but i like it!

Thanks Trish! I've always wanted to try my hand at soapmaking... but too afraid to try working with lye. Working with lye isn't really that bad. There are some great resources and there are other ways you can make it too! I do a lot of melt & pour and bath products. I am hopping to get a full cold process set up in the spring. If you are interested in getting into it I know of some great resources and I am more than willing to help point you in the right direction! Thanks Trish, will keep that in mind! I'm married to someone who survived cancer and we are really strict about consuming only organic and chemical free foods and beauty products. I make most of my own personal care products (lotion, shampoo-but we cheat using dr. bronner's mixed with other stuff for this, lip balm, mineral make-up, deodorant, toothpaste...) I think soap may be the only thing I don't make yet... would love to add that in the mix someday....
