Hello all. My name is Crystal Alford. I live in Delaware Ohio. I have a shop on Etsy called Zoonomia that I have recently renamed and reopened. It is mostly stained glass art based on anthropology, evolution, and bone anatomy. I have a BS in physical anthropology with a concentration in bone anatomy and physiology. My goal is to make and sell art that utilizes my science education. I am also an art instructor at a local cultural arts center where I teach stained glass, a handmade filigree technique that I developed myself, and pencil portrait drawing.
I joined this group because I hope to learn more about the art of promoting and selling as well as to communicate with other artists. Right now I am in the middle of a commission that was cut in the middle by my birthday and labor day and I need to complete it ASAP. I've got to get to work, but I'll check in later tonight, catch up with the reading, and familiarize myself with the group. I look forward to interacting with you all.
Crystal

Welcome, fellow scientist. I'm a physiological ecologist by training. I love that you're on a mission to bring your science background into your art. I'm planning a blog post about artists with science backgrounds. I'd love to feature you and your work, if you're interested.

Hello, Crystal. Welcome to the group. Your work is absolutely beautiful. I have always adored stained glass but have never been wealthy enough to buy any of the pieces I really like. I love that your work reflects who you are and what you are passionate about. I'm not usually into skulls myself, but that trinket box is gorgeous. I would love to see a full photo of the piece your banner is taken from.
