I just started blogging in December 2013. I mostly post about jewelry design theme challenges. Or new polymer clay, wire-weaving, etc. techniques I've tried. And I participate in blog hops. I haven't dedicated entire posts to my cats, but I do mention or picture them on occasion. (so there's your fair warning: this blog may contain furry cuteness). And when I try a new gourmet cupcake recipe that turns out especially well, I may blog about that. With pictures of little cakes topped with piles of frosting. Sometimes the recipes include alcohol. (Fair warning numbers 2 and 3: this blog may contain images or discussion of delicious and boozy baked goods). www.paisleylizard.com/blog/This indicates what a neophyte I am at blogging these days, but what is a blog hop?

I really want a big dog :)I love cats but I am a big dog fan can not wait to get one i am a fan of small dogs (not toy) and always mongrels (cross breads) as a teen we had 2 dogs cher (a staffordshire bull terrier crossed with a jack russell) was my brothers and Mulder was mine - i originally called him fox - as we had NO idea what he was a mix of - but he looked more like a fox than a dog. but he refused to answer to his name (we were worried he was deaf) then when watching xfiles - I was correcting my mother who had misheard the characters name - said his name is fox mulder! and the little puppy came bounding in; ran up my whole body (digging his claws in at every step) and sat on my shoulder - he was tiny when we got him - he grew much bigger and still tried to sit on my shoulder even then! Given the Jack Russell's I've known, I am really hoping the staffordshire leveled that one out some. And Mulder sounds cute. So very cute. However, the not really processing their growth thing I have seen with both Chasyr and Dulce. Chasyr still cannot figure out why she doesn't properly fit under my desk anymore (when we first got her, she was small enough to use a CD spindle as a pillow), and the list of things that Dulce is confused by or mournful about is long and hilarious.... Like when one of our other two dogs walk under her.... Or when she tries to fit in the chairs on our porch.... (She often just looks at them as if to say "Whyfore you shrink!") Or when she tries to fit on our smaller half-couch thing with me... The only times she seems completely comfortable with her size is when she's catching me or holding me up.

This indicates what a neophyte I am at blogging these days, but what is a blog hop? Fair question. A blog hop is a virtual party. Some people call it a linky, I think. I've done two types. In one, everyone who participates posts the attendee list on their blog and we all hop around reading and leaving comments. In the other type, the hostess has a widget on her page, we stop by to leave a link to our blog, and everyone hops around visiting the linked blogs. It's a way to get new followers, and to get views and stats for your blog. It's also just fun. I do design challenge blog hops and it's awesome to see all the talent and the many ways different people can interpret the same thing or use the same materials.

I've been wanting to (a) host a hop and (b) host a challenge here. The wheels are spinning. I'm hatching a theme. Wait for it ...Have Yourself a Handmade Holiday?

I posted this short (for me especially) post last night about a new challenge for myself. I'm thinking of signing up for a "master class" in designing a cohesive looking line of jewelry. If you've been to my Etsy shop, you know I'm all over the place with my "style". I have no idea, none, zero, zilch, what to pitch to the instructor to get into the class. Hoping for some inspiration between now and sign-up deadline in January. www.paisleylizard.com/2014/12/build-line-design-challenge-dilemma/Also, I designed the blog badge for the class.
