My focus in high school was art. I stayed up all night painting on the weekends. Two years out of high school my husband and I had a space at Jackson Square in New Orleans where we sold paintings. We took the ferry everyday to get to our space and had beignets at Café du Monde every morning before we set up our space. I did pen and inks and watercolor. My husband did oil and acrylic paintings. Moved away and had a child and quit doing any art for years. About 5 years ago I started a business called "All That Is Horses". I designed horse jewelry out of polymer clay and silver clay utilizing beads, gemstones, turquoise and coral. I had a website and sold my jewelry, home made handbags and jackets at horse shows. I designed everything and I had a partner who did some of the sewing and beading. We had a falling out and I ended up with none of the inventory because it was stored in a building on her property since I live in a very tiny house.
Currently I am disabled and need to have a creative outlet and something to keep my mind active. I started sewing in grade school (even making clothing without patterns) and have sewn all my life so it seemed like something I could start doing again as a way to help myself. Currently I am focused on aprons and I have added one vest to my Etsy site. After I have built up some inventory I hope to add other clothing items and maybe jewelry. I have permanent tremors in my hand so I am not sure I will be able bead again. But if I find I can manage it I will.
I need help marketing my items on Etsy. I am also interested in what other creators are doing.

I am going to be slow at all of this. It has been a long time since I have been on a forum board like this and it's going to take me a while to figure out how to access everything. I hope you all are patient cause I not very computer savvy.

Welcome to the forum. I'm a little slow getting to meeting all the new folks here. I'd love to go check out your Etsy shop, but couldn't find it. Could you post the link or at least tell us the name of it? If you need help posting a link, we can help.
